ASEA Power Systems, a leader in premium marine power solutions, is proud to announce the launch of its Isolation Transformer 3.6kVA | 30A, a one-of-a-kind solution designed to set a new benchmark in marine electrical safety, reliability, and compliance. Engineered as a direct drop-in replacement for the Charles IsoG2, this robust transformer ensures vessels meet the latest marine standards while safeguarding onboard systems and underwater fittings against electrical hazards.

ASEA’s new isolation transformer is meticulously designed to align with ABYC E-11.7.1, ABYC C-1500, UL 1500, and UL 1561 standards. Fully sealed and ignition-protected, it is the optimal choice for both diesel and gasoline-powered vessels, offering unparalleled safety and resilience in demanding marine environments. By achieving compliance with the latest NEC 555.35 standard, the new Isolation Transformer ensures marina electrical safety by preventing unintended ground-fault currents from exceeding GFPE thresholds, critical for avoiding tripping of dockside ELCI breakers and mitigating the risk of Electric Shock Drowning (ESD).

At the heart of this transformer is its ability to completely isolate shore power from a vessel’s onboard electrical system, effectively neutralizing galvanic currents that lead to under-hull corrosion. By eliminating the risk of stray AC currents, the transformer extends the longevity of metal components, reducing maintenance costs while protecting the integrity of the vessel’s structure.

Beyond corrosion protection, ASEA’s advanced isolation technology stabilizes incoming shore power, ensuring clean and consistent AC delivery to sensitive onboard electronics. The transformer filters out voltage fluctuations, harmonics, and transients, preserving the performance of navigation systems, entertainment suites, and critical electrical components.

“With the launch of our 3.6kVA | 30A Isolation Transformer, ASEA Power Systems reaffirms its commitment to delivering the highest standard in marine electrical protection,” said Richard Gaudet, President MCE Marine Power. “Through precision engineering and strict compliance with industry standards, we continue to provide solutions that meet the demands of modern boat owners and marina professionals.”

The ASEA 3.6kVA Isolation Transformer is now available and can be purchased through ASEA’s distribution network. For more information or to submit an inquiry, please visit here
